Private prescription are issued by the GP when medicines need to be supplied but they can not be paid for by the NHS. This usually the case for prescription for anti-malaria tablets for holidays abroad and some other medication that the NHS is unwilling to pay for.
If your GP gives you a private prescription, bring it into the pharmacy and we will be able to let you know how competitive our prices are.
