Emergency contraception can be taken up to 72 hours after unprotected sex or failure of a barrier method. You can obtain the emergency contraceptive pill from your pharmacist without an appointment with your GP. There is usually a charge of £25 for the treatment, although some patients will be entitled to receive it for free.
Before we can supply the ‘morning after pill’, the pharmacist will need to conduct a short consultation with you, to ensure that it is safe for you to take. This consultation will be carried out in one of our private consultation rooms.
If you wish to talk with the pharmacist before travelling to the pharmacy, please give us a call.
